ESL One Cologne 2018 officially announced with first details

ESL appears to be visiting Cologne for the fifth time in a row next year, after officially announcing the ESL One Cologne 2018.

ESL One will return to Cologne for the fifth year in a row, with 16 teams set to compete in the German city on July 3-8.

The story of CS:GO and Cologne will continue next year, with ESL announcing ESL One Cologne 2018. The event will once again take place early in July, with three group stage days (July 3-5) followed by three days of action in the LANXESS arena (July 6-8).

This time around, the prize pool has been bumped up from $250,000 to $300,000, with the tournament being a part of the Intel Grand Slam circuit as well. This means that, in Cologne, a squad will make a step toward taking the $1,000,000 reserved for the team that wins four premium tournaments.

ESL One Cologne 2018 will take place on July 3-8, with, as is usual, only the playoffs taking place in the LANXESS arena. The tickets for the event will go on for sale this Friday, with details and prices available on the ESL One website.
