Exploring No Man’s Sky will take you 5 billion years !

We’ve all seen the major scope of Hello Game’s creation and the amount of freedom in movement at the last E3 demo, but did you know that exploring all the planets in No Man’s Sky will take 5 billion years ?

Hello Games’ co-founder Sean Murray has revealed that the developers used a 32-bit number at first to procedurally generate the game’s worlds.

“with that 32-bit number it would take you four or five thousand years to see every planet if you spent only a second on each one.”

The team decided later that they want to use a 64-bit number, which made exploring the whole game even more impossible as spending a second on every planet will take.. only about 5 billion years !

So if you were looking for a game that will last you centuries (even more than the remaining age of Earth itself).. No Man’s Sky coming for PS4 and PC will make your wish come true.
