FC Schalke 04 reveals its Esports FIFA team members

We acknowledged FC Schalke’s intent in entering the world of Esports last month, and today we got the names of those who will be representing the German Bundsliga team at FIFA world tournaments.

In addition to the League of Legends team, FC Schalke now has a dedicated FIFA team made from three worldwide German pros who are Mario Viska, Joshua Begehr, and Cihan Yasarlar. All of the three have had a successful career as Begehr is a FIFA world champion, Viska is a six-times German and Austrian champion and Yasarlar who made a name for himself as a FIFA pro.

“One month ago, we set sails for a long-term commitment,” says Tim Reichert, head of eSports at Schalke. “Today, we go one step further with FIFA. FIFA offers us a lot of opportunities to get in touch with the German eSport scene, which is why we hope for a broad support by the fans.

“We will proactively work on that by hosting regular community events such as boot camps or meet & greets with our players. Our long-term goal is to set new standards for the public perception of eSports.”
