fnatic announce collaboration with GAMERZ

The Swedish team fnatic announced today its collaboration with GAMERZ, a tournament dedicated to emerging talent, with the aim of awarding the winner of the next edition of the tournament with a place in its academic team.

GAMERZ  have announced a strategic partnership that will see the winners of the next edition of the esports reality show join the famed organisation’s academy team.

After a debut season focused on Nordic talent, GAMERZ is looking to reach out to the entire European community and offer up-and-coming players the chance to be part of fnatic’s academy team.

Throughout the season, fnatic will collaborate with GAMERZ to help find the best talents for the show, with the Swedish team’s own players and coaches due to make regular appearances to share their “know-how and experiences”.

“Fnatic has a rich history in finding, educating and growing esports talents, and we are proud to have some of the biggest esports pros competing under the Fnatic banner,” Patrik “cArn” Sättermon, Chief Gaming Officer for fnatic, said in a statement.

“Partnering with GAMERZ gives us again an opportunity to share our knowledge and experience with the newer generations. And of course the opportunity to welcome new talent into our CS:GO Academy team.

“Through GAMERZ, we will get a cool scanning of all the talented players out there. We are really looking forward to this.”

GAMERZ Europe is scheduled to air in early 2018, with registration now open via the reality show’s official website.

The Nordic GAMERZ edition came to an end in May, withAbdisamad “SpawN” Mohamed’s GAMERZ BLUE coming out on top in the grand final. Linus “Limpone” Wecksell, the brother of fnatic member Jesper “JW” Wecksell, is currently in North America plying his trade for Tempo Storm alongsideFredrik “elo” Annerström, who was part of the GAMERZ RED, the losing finalist.
