“For the Players”- Sony’s E3 show summary

Yes, for the players. The catch phrase Sony is so famous for this generation since it first introduced the PS4 a year and a half ago. Today in its E3 conference we got to see that in action. Surprise after surprise after surprise poured down like bombs on the crowd and everyone watching online. So let’s take a look at the most important stuff that happened at Sony’s E3.

The show started with a loud start when The Last Guardian was unveiled for the first time after 7 years of absence. Team ICO’s spiritual game had an outstanding 6-minute gameplay demo that showed us the game is still in safe hands. It will be releasing next year for the Playstation 4.

A representative of Guerrilla Games got up on the stage to announce the studio’s break from Killzone title and revealed their newest ip called “Horizon: Zero Dawn”; an open world action RPG title that relays on exploration and survival. It will be released next year also as a Playstation 4 exclusive.

Agent 47 made a comeback afterwards, with a new game simply titled “Hitman”. The new trailer was really exciting and did its part in making us hyped about the newest assassination adventure. It was announced that the PS4 will have a sort of exclusivity to some contents but the game will be coming to PC and Xbox as well.

New trailer came out for Street Fighter V, showing the many new moves in a high definition style and fast paced combat. It was announced that the beta phase will be coming later on in July.

No Man’s Sky returned to steal the spotlight again with a great presentation from Hello Games to this massive game. We’ve seen lots of new info about the gameplay and the interaction between the player and the different planets’ inhabitant AI.

A new and a little bizarre game called Dreams was next on. Made by Little Big Planet’s Media Molecule, the whole title revolves around player-created content as we’ve seen you can make any game you want whether it’s a Hello Kitty-like kitten fighting hoards of zombies or just a scenery with a person playing the piano. The player is the center of this new title and it should be interesting.

After few other trailers like Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, Destiny and Firewatch. A moment in history was made, as the long-awaited remake of one of the best RPG games of all time Final Fantasy VII was announced and sat the internet and the crowd ablaze. With fancy high-end graphics and top notch voice acting, it’s safe to say we’re very excited to see the comeback of Square Enix’s marvel after more than 17 years on its launch.

The hype train went on when Shenmue 3 was announced right after that. As Yu Suzuki took the stage and talked about how much he wanted to have a conclusion to the epic adventure ever since Shenmue 2. It was revealed that with fan’s support through a Kickstarter campaign the game might come to reality. And what do you know, the game raised more than the asked 2 million dollars budget under one day only.

Several other announcements were made like a new exclusivity deal with Activision to make Playstation the new home to Call of Duty starting with Black Ops 3, which means a 30-days head start on all additional content for the PS3/4. And several new trailers including Star Wars titles and Batman: Arkham Knight. Project Morpheus was mentioned and a new title for it called Rigs coming from Guerrilla Cambridge studio was announced.

The show had an epic conclusion with Uncharted 4 on display in a new 7 minutes demo. We’ve seen an amazing level of details and the improved gameplay with outstanding graphics in action. As Nate had a breathtaking cat-and-mouse chase on a 4wd car.
