Informatics Academy opens doors for Esports and Game Design Diploma in Singapore

It’s not strange anymore to be seeing educational institutes recognizing eSports in their programs or student activities. However, it’s still pleasant to see more starting to do so

 

Informatics Academy institution, Singapore is the most recent to join the wave of eSports adopters around the globe, as it has opened its doors to those who are willing to learn more about the industry through a diploma specifically for eSports and Game Design.

With the exponential growth of esports – also known as electronic sports, competitive gaming or professional gaming, the esports industry is expected to be a $1.5billion business by 2020 according to Newzoo. Thanks to titles like CS: GO, Dota 2 and League of Legends, the industry is now bigger than ever and it’s not stopping anytime soon.

Informatics Academy has launched the Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Esports and Game Design in partnership with (Singapore) Cybersports and Online Gaming Association (SCOGA), and it aims to impart students with the knowledge and skills in Esports management and game design and development.

Career options include Social Media Associate/Manager, Esports Reporter/Commentator, Event/Product Manager, Game/QA Tester, Team Coach/Analyst, Game Designer/Animator/Motion Graphics Artist, and many more. In related news, eSports has been made part of the upcoming Asian Games and is on track for Olympic recognition, further proving the legitimacy of the industry going forward.
