Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain ships 5 million copies

Some new numbers revealed by Konami shows us how well did Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain do in its first month of being on sale.

It looks like Hideo Kojima’s latest and perhaps last Metal Gear title made some big sales in a short time for it to become one of the highest selling games this year. Reports show that MGSV shipped more than 5 million copies including digital downloads. Numbers came in the latest financial report for Konami and are for all versions released of the game.

Digital entertainment division saw an increase in earnings with more than 44 billion Yen compared to last year. The main two games that contributed to that were Metal Gear Solid and Pro Evolution Soccer even though no numbers for the later were shared.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is now available on PC, PS3/4 and Xbox One/360.
