Nintendo’s presidet Satoru Iwata passes away at 55 years old
In a very saddening news to the gaming community across the globe, Nintendo has just announced that president Satoru Iwata passed away July 11 at 55 years old due to health problems caused by a bile duct growth.
Iwata couldn’t attend last E3 because of his poor health status. He announced a couple of weeks later that he had a growth removed and that he’s progressing well, but it looks like he didn’t make it.
“Nintendo Co., Ltd. deeply regrets to announce that President Satoru Iwata passed away on July 11, 2015 due to a bile duct growth.”
Mr. Satoru Iwata was the fourth president of Nintendo since establishment after he got the position from Hiroshi Yamauchi in 2002. He worked at Nintendo since the 80’s and helped develop many popular titles like EarthBound and Balloon Fight.
Will certainly be missed… Rest In Peace Iwata 1959-2015.
