PUBG now holds Steam’s record as the game with biggest number of concurrent players of all time

Who would’ve thought that the 100-man battle royal game Playeruknown’s Battlegrounds, or PUBG, would be more popular than CS: GO and even Dota 2?

The currently-on-fire game managed to outdo Dota 2 in number of concurrent users in one day a couple of weeks ago, and today it sets the record for that again but this time it’s for all-time.

PUBG reached a number of 1,349,584 players according to Steam Chart, passing Dota 2’s record of 1,291,328 players during March 2016. This came after Playerunknown’s beat multiple famous Steam games like CS: GO, Fallout 4 and GTA V. It was only a million players last week, and now eight days later another 200k joined in.

As a reminder, this doesn’t necessarily mean that PUBG now has more players, as it recently passed 10 million players; a great feat on its own, but not so much compared to Dota 2 or CS: GO. However, it’s up to devs from now on to increase that number with frequent updates and care.

Accordingly, a new patch was rolled that gave us many changes among them are new buildings to loot, a new foggy weather, and Mini-14 gun. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds releases officially at the end of this year, leaving Early Access behind. Xbox One version is coming in 2018, while PS4 players have to wait for further information.
