ahq e-Sports Club defeated SK Telecom T1 earlier today and handed them their first loss at Worlds during week two of the group stage. And SK Telecom T1 beat Cloud9 earlier today too.
Then the NA LCS and LMS regions were locked in intense battle. Cloud9’s victory over ahq means the LMS squad is eliminated from Worlds.
EDward Gaming defeated both Cloud9 and ahq e-Sports Club earlier today. EDG needed to beat SKT in order to force a tiebreaker for second place with Cloud9 and complete an unlikely turnaround after starting the second week with three losses. but SK Telecom T1 picked up a surprising win over EDward Gaming at Worlds to knock the LPL’s first seed out of the competition.
This win means that Cloud9 advance from Group A as the second-place team. SKT finish the Group A at first place and will face Misfits in the quarterfinals.
