FalleN joining Immortals? Reports talk new CS: GO squad for the Brazilian organization

A surprise that no one could’ve predicted is coming, as Immortals prepare to make their comeback to the CS: GO scene with one of the best acclaimed rosters

After previous roster’s dissolution following a death threat controversy last Fall, many thought Immortals’ CS:GO presence was over. Reports indicate that not only is Immortals returning to the game—but that the organization will be doing so by acquiring one of the best rosters in the world, SK Gaming, in a surprise deal set to take place later this year.

SK Gaming’s Brazilian CS:GO roster  are considered top contenders following first-place finishes at several top-tier events in the last 12 months. The team was picked up by SK from Luminosity in the summer of 2016, and has since earned over $2 million in prize money.

Immortals has been in desperate search for a win, and their situation was made worse when one CS:GO player tweeted a death threat directed at a fellow competitor. A bright spot for the team has been the successful launch of Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch League. Immortals’ Los Angeles Valiant franchise have had a solid start, going undefeated in the preseason and are currently sitting with a 3-2 record. Out of all OWL teams, Los Angeles Valiant are the only one to announce a tentative live venue for season three—the Microsoft Theatre in the LA Live Complex, owned by investor AEG.

It’s worth mentioning that a report earlier this month hinted at a return to CS:GO for Immortals, when it was confirmed that the organization was in talks to acquire the historic “Made in Brazil” esports brand. Many didn’t know at the time what that meant, but now it’s clear that Immortals wanted one of the most iconic brands. For the Brazilian roster soon to leave SK, landing under the beloved MiBR banner should be a meaningful transition.
