That’s right, Toyota just announced its own CS: GO tournament

Toyota is looking to enter the world of esports championships in a big way, with the announcement of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament that has a respectable prize pool

 

 

The tournament, which will be called Toyota Master Bangkok 2018, will be held in Thailand, specifically Bangkok, where the Japanese company has unveiled its $ 100,000 award. It will feature 10 competing teams with six of them coming from qualifiers for the tournament in North America, Europe, China, South East Asia and the Commonwealth of Independent States.

However, four other teams will receive their place through a direct invite including Detroit Renegades has been announced, while the other teams will be revealed later. As for the arena that will be the competition for this tournament in CS: GO will be Stadium Huamark , which can accommodate ten thousand seats.

“We realise that the lifestyle of the young generation has changed according to modern technology. As a result, we have stepped up to catch up with the trend, especially on our policy to encourage young people to live their way of lives,” said Wutthikorn Suriyachantananon, Deputy Managing Director of Toyota Motors Thailand.

According to the official site of the event, a few major companies such as Twitch, Intel and HyperX will be among the sponsors of the event, as well as local players such as AIS Fiber and Singha Drinking Water.

Southeast Asia has been ranked by Newzoo as one of the fastest growing markets for e-sports. In July, Singtel announced the PVP eSports Championship, which will offer a multi-game event with prizes exceeding $ 300,000.
