These are the teams that made it to Playoffs at ELEAGUE Major
One month into the new year and we’re already seeing one of the biggest CS: GO tournaments yet at ELEAGUE Major.
Day four of the competition was filled with critical matches. North kicked off the day by eliminating G2, before Fnatic secured a playoff spot with a win over G2. Next up were two elimination matches, with Liquid taking down Mousesports to survive before Godsent eliminated OpTic Gaming from the tournament. The last of the games were incredibly close matches, with SK Gaming prevailing against Astralis in overtime before Gambit secured a victory against FaZe.
With six teams left to fight for three remaining playoff spots, the final matches were drawn. Up first was North against Godsent, another incredibly close affair that went all the way to overtime before North eventually sealed the deal 19-17. FaZe Clan and EnVyUs then faced off on Nuke for their tournament lives. An impressive performance from KennyS kept things close for much of the game, but in the final rounds it was FaZe that pulled away, taking the map 16-11.
The final game of the group stage was Astralis versus Team Liquid, and the Danish squad seemed to be trying to make up for lost time. A 16-3 Mirage victory finally sealed a playoff spot for the team that is considered to be the favorite at the tournament.
Here are the quarter finalists who will be playing Friday and Saturday, with semi finals kicking off right after the last quarter match at Saturday:
