Twitch choses Daigo as the website’s first global ambassador

Weeks after announcing a partnership with Red Bull, fighting game legend Umehara Daigo has joined forces with another big name in gaming.

Daigo announced on Saturday (Friday night in the United States) that he is Twitch’s first global ambassador. His role will include promoting the streaming service around the world, starting in both his native Japan and the Asian continent as a whole. Daigo will be attending events around the world to promote the streaming service and this includes the upcoming TwitchCon, which takes place in San Diego September 30.

Fighting games legend Daigo had started his Twitch career earlier this year when he began streaming weekly with other fighting pros sharing his advices and skills with the community, saying he hopes other players would benefit from his streams and that it would help the whole community to level up and have more fun.
