WESG 2018 online qualifiers are now open – here’s the details

World Electronic Sports Games, or WESG, has unveiled the first details of the online qualifiers for the 2018-2019 season where teams from around the world will compete in a number of popular video games such as Dota 2, CS: GO and more

 

 

The global tournament, which is organized by Alisports (the sports branch of the Chinese Alibaba Foundation), will include tournaments in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, StarCraft II, Hearthstone, Vainglory and Pro Evolution Soccer. The qualifiers will soon determine which countries will reach the grand finals, to be held in China with a total of $ 2.5 million prize pool.

The prize is divided as following:

● Dota 2: $890 000

● CS:GO: $890 000

● CS:GO Female: $105 000

● HearthStone: $190 000

● HearthStone Female: $35 000

● Starcraft 2: $240 000

● Vainglory: $105 000

● PES: $52 500

The table below lists the qualifying start dates for each of the major continents around the world. The Arab World qualifiers for Iraq, Yemen, UAE, Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Palestine, Oman, Lebanon, Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain will be held with the Asian Region. The rest of the Arab countries fall within the body of the African continent.

One seat in the finals will be available to the Middle East and South Asia in the qualifiers of all games, as well as another one for Arab countries in Africa. The Arab clash will undoubtedly be the strongest for the title of the representative of Arabs in this worldwide event.
