More than 800 million Esports hours viewed on Twitch since August

Between August and now, Twitch users watched 803.7 million hours of esports coverage, according to a report from Newzoo.

Newzoo, an analytics firm that studies the world of esports, found that most people were tuning into League of Legends and Dota 2 streams. October, for example, was the biggest month for esports with 124 million hours spent on Twitch watching major events like the monthlong League of Legendschampionship, the ESL One New York and the MLG World Finals Dota 2tournaments. In October, esports accounted for just over 30 percent of all streaming.

August marked the second-biggest month for esports, with 110 million hours spent watching different tournaments. This largely had to do with the final of Dota 2’s International 5,League of Legends’ regional leagues and the ESL Counter-Strike:Global Offensivetournament in Cologne, Germany.
