A strong Virtus Pro comeback to CS: GO scene is imminent as new reports emerge

Before teams such as Astralis, FaZe Clan, and Team Liquid took the top spot in the CS: GO competitive arena, the name Virtus Pro was one of the most known among players. However, it hasn’t been so for over two years ago due to several changes in the lineup that made VP a shadow of its former self, something that may change for the better soon

The names that made Virtus Pro a force to be reckoned included “Snax”, “NEO”, “pashaBiceps”, “TaZ” and “byali”, the most successful Polish squad in history that has performed brilliantly since its signing in 2014 with the Russian club until 2017, when they won their last big event at EPICENTER. Since then, the VP star has begun to lose its shine, with the original players gradually leaving to leave a weak squad that only has the veteran “Snax” left.

As the new roster failed to produce any tangible results in the competitive arena, change was necessary. According to new reports, the Russian organization is about to sign with a list of the best players in the world to boost its power in the CS: GO world, with news of talks to acquire the newly formed AVANGAR team, which has proven itself in the recent period.

The lineup of “Jame”, “AdreN”, “qikert”, “buster”, and “SANJI” is close to joining the Russian team, according to a report by journalist Jarek “DeKay” Lewis, making it the organization’s biggest deal in CS: GO since 2014. Given the current AVANGAR performance, which ranks among the best 10-15 teams on HLTV continuously, and with the squad reaching the StarLadder Berlin Major Finals and winning the BLAST Pro Series in September, it is undoubtedly an excellent deal for the Russian team.

In comparison, the current VP lineup is ranked 25th on HLTV, and it has not been able to achieve any huge results yet since 2017. We don’t know what will happen to the current players, but the idea of fresh blood pumping in the beloved organization seems more desirable now than ever, so we are awaiting the consequences of this new deal soon.

It is noteworthy that both Virtus Pro and AVANGAR will participate in the EPICENTER tournaments on December 17 and cs_summit on the 12th of the same month, which is a golden opportunity to see the two squads against each other to see who the best players really are.
