Call of Duty returns to its roots with Modern Warfare reboot

After a long wait and anticipation fueled by rumors that the series is going back to its Modern Warfare roots again, Call of Duty is officially releasing a new iteration of its most successful sub-series and a fan favorite in this year’s new version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

The new game, called surprisingly just like the original 2007 version, may seem weird at first, but it’s actually a remake of events in a different way in line with the wars of our modern era. According to the reveal trailer, we can expect to see a number of classic characters here such as “Captain Price” in addition to a number of new faces.

The new version will come to the Xbox, PlayStation 4 and PC on October 25th, and will bring with it several happy surprises for fans, the most important being the ability to play between the three platforms together, a dream we’ve always been waiting for. In addition, Modern Warfare will not contain any paid Season Pass content present in previous Call of Duty iterations, instead many free content will be provided by developers at Infinity Ward.

“With the launch of Modern Warfare, the team is taking steps to unite the community. First, the team plans for Modern Warfare to be played together across PC and console through cross-play support.”

However, the biggest focus here seems to be on the campaign story mode, which is seeing a return after the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, when Activision claimed that single player is basically dead anyway.

The story of the new game will be characterized by a realistic approach that will put the players in difficult positions that show the hard truth of wars and will move between freedom  fighters in the Middle East and soldiers with the latest military technology. You can expect tasks similar to “No Russians” in the original game, as the new game will focus on moving players’ feelings by showing them war crimes.
