Corsair Dream League will be the first DOTA 2 Minor event for 2019
DOTA 2 Pro League returns after the World Championship ended in August with Corsair DreamLeague season 10 tournament the first minor event for 2018-2019.
The Corsair DreamLeague season 10 tournament is in partnership with DreamHack, Corsair, H4X, and Monster Energy.
The DPC event was confirmed few days ago. The eight-team tournament will take the lion’s share of the $300,000 prize pool, as well as a slot in the Kuala Lumpur Major, the first Major of the 2018-19 season. Corsair DreamLeague is scheduled for Oct. 29 to Nov. 4. Global qualifiers will lead into the event, with tournaments in China, Southeast Asia, Europe, North America, South America, and Russia/CIS.
Two days of open qualifiers will kick off the qualifying event, with winners then moving on to a “four team, double-elimination closed bracket.” Each closed qualifier will award one slot for CIS, Southeast Asia, South America, and China. Europe and North America get two slots in the Stockholm finals in Sweden.
First place in the main event will take home $125,000, with second place will be awarded $70,000. Prizes scale down from there.
The DOTA 2 Kuala Lumpur Major tournament is scheduled to kick off on Nov. 9. It’s the first major event of the 2018-19 season.
In early September, Valve updated the DPC points system for the new season. A major change is that points are now attached to teams and not players. Points don’t transfer with players if they switch teams, as they have in the past.
