FlipSid3 player : “we’re going to come back stronger”
Team FlipSid3 made wonders in the previous huge event PGL Major Krakow 2017 after defeating some of the world best teams : FaZe Clan and PENTA .
However the team couldn’t best Immortals and finished 9th-11th at the Major, following a 2-3 record in the group stage.

HLTV managed to get hold of Jan “wayLander“ Rahkonen and asked him many questions about the event :
Did you manage to look back on your matches at the Major and talk things through? Have you identified what your issues were, why some of the losses didn’t go your way?
Well, we didn’t have a team talk yet, we just had an analysis after each game and talked about what we did wrong. After each game we played, especially after the first one and the second one, we realized that every game was under our control until some point of the match. If we hadn’t done some stupid mistakes that we should never ever have done, both first games would have been ours.
Do you remember anything specific from those matches, what the mistakes were?
The first match versus fnatic, we had a pretty good read on how their CT side was working and we had a good start, but after that, we relaxed a bit too much maybe, lost some focus, and they managed to come back. And we saw that we were losing the control of the game and our morale fell apart.
Have you tried anything to fix this, make sure you don’t lose your focus and morale?
We just sat behind B1ad3 who was watching the demo and he was telling us that we could win against anyone, just don’t do mistakes like we did in this match, and I think that’s only team talk that we needed.
What about yourself, personally, you’ve been criticized for losing control of your emotions, do you feel that is the case?
Personally, I think after I’ve done one mistake early in the game, I start thinking about it, what I did wrong, and it can last for like five to six rounds. It’s not great. I don’t think I’m as emotional as everyone says, my face expressions don’t always show the real emotions.
Can you tell me about your plans for the near future, given that the player break is coming up?
That’s what I was going to ask B1ad3 today (laughs), but I haven’t done it yet, so I don’t know. There probably will be a break for us, I’m not sure yet for how long it will be. The only thing I’m sure of after this break is that we’re going to come back stronger.
