League World Championship quarterfinals spots set with C9 and SKT T1 advancing

The group stage of League of Legends biggest annual championship has finally concluded yesterday with two teams from Group B advancing to the quarterfinals. Cloud9, the NA side managed to miraculously qualify to be the only NA team making it out after both CLG and TSM failed to score better than 3-3.

Yesterday it was Cloud9 vs I May. The match held extreme importance to the Americans as they needed the win to advance and thanks to a great performance they got what they wanted. However, it was in the hands of SK Telecom T1 the Korean champions with their match against Flash Wolves, as a lose would mean Flash Wolves would tie with Cloud9. The outcome of the match was another win for SK which was the first ever against FW since the start of this season.

Both Cloud9 and SKT T1 claimed the final spots, and thus the quarternfinals shall begin this Thursday in Chicago. Cloud9 will go against Samsung Galaxy in the first best-of-five quarterfinals series, while the other quarterfinals matchups pit SKT T1 against China’s Royal Never Give Up, H2k against Albus NoX Luna and ROX Tigers against EDward Gaming.
