PUBG Update #21 might be its biggest and best so far

A new 7.62 weapon, a new vehicle, a custom training map and a new award system will be enough motives to get people back to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, but that’s not all of what Bluehole had provided in one of the best, if not the best, PUBG update ever

Update #21 is the latest game patch currently being tested on the game’s Test Server. Looking at the official announcement page, the first thing you will notice is the brand new training map, which comes in response to the demands of many fans who had hoped for a way that they can test the various weapons in the game in. Not only will you be able to test weapons sprays and patterns, but the company went an extra mile to include race tracks (pun intended), a lake, a melee training area and even a landing area that will improve your parachute game.

The second new addition you will receive is a new award system inspired largely by the Battle Pass released earlier this year. Players will be able to earn points just by playing the game completing a number of simple tasks such as surviving 20 minutes in one game. When you complete the tasks, you get XP points that go to the Survivor Level counter, which in turn rewards you with each level a random Supply Crate as a way to get them instead of spending your regular BP points. Speaking of BP, the points distribution system will be improved to take into account the time of survival as well as the position you have reached, and the distribution of points among team members will be better now as well.

All of that is awesome, but what about new weapons and additions to be found inside the game? Well, you’ll be glad to know that a new weapon called the MK47 Mutant will make its debut in the game with the new update. The new AR weapon comes with 7.62 ammo and two shooting modes, Single and Burst, to replace other AR weapons for medium distances thanks to its accuracy and speed.

In addition to this new weapon, PUBG Corp has also introduced a new Attachment that will improve the hipfire accuracy in the shape of a visible laser beam to help you eliminate your enemies accurately at near distances. There is a sacrifice you have to make though, namely that the laser will take the lower part of the weapon which means you will not be able to use your normal Grips and sacrifice the accuracy at farthest distances.

In addition to all of that, there’s an exclusive new vehicle for the Sanhok map, which is the hotly demanded Tukshai mini-car, which can accommodate three players. Of course, update #21 will not be appropriate for the game if it does not come with a lot of bug fixes, which you can see on the official page.

Have we mentioned that, as a part of the QoL improvements, you can now check the quality of your game connection and Ping at last? Not to mention the enhanced signaling system that allows you to put your own bookmark on your friends compass to indicate the direction you want to point them out to. If all of this does not secure the new update place as the best update yet, we don’t know what to tell you.

In other news, Bluehole also released an update to the Xbox version getting it to full 1.0 release, after less than a year of early access on the home console. The Xbox update includes access to the Sanhok map plus all other major features of the PC version.

The #21 update for the PC version will be available in the next few days after testing on Test servers concludes.
