Today was the second day of main event in DOTA 2 The International 8 (TI8), with many big teams eliminated from the tournament.

Team Serenity and Mineski were both overpowered in 2:0 sweeps in the lower brackets of The International 8, ending their dreams for the Aegis early with a 9-12th place finish.

Team Serenity with their off-Meta picks and aggressive, unique playstyle. and after all dat, they lossed thier dream to advance to the grand finals, and that when they are  defeated by OpTic Gaming with 2-0. OpTic Gaming had barely squeaked through the group stage and made a miraculous comeback from the last place in groups to secure an upper bracket placement. They were quickly knocked into the lower brackets in the first match of The International 8 by the TI7 champions, Team Liquid.

Mineski had more than a commendable DPC 2017-2018 season, ending in 5th place of the rankings and securing a direct invite to The International 2018. The SEA team had worked hard and fought their way through event after event and were considered a formidable enemy going into TI8. but finally they are defeated by Virtus.Pro with 0-2 and lossed thier dream. on the other hand, Virtus Pro have earned their powerhouse reputation with their massive domination all season and terrifying presence. Easily, one of the favorites for The International 8.

In the same time some Europe and North America teams surprised us and advancing to the next round of DOTA 2 The International 8 in the second day of main event too.

Two teams that were, perhaps, not expected to go far in this tournament, had an unprecedented show of brilliance and composure in their first round of the upper bracket. But today, they went one step further to solidify their spots in the top 6 of The International 8, a monumental improvement on their results at last year’s International.

OG were set to go against VGJ.Storm, the top seed of Group B who also chose them as their first round opponents, in the first series of the day. However, the American powerhouse entered the series with a major disadvantage, owing to their rule-breaking in the group stages that resulted in a penalty as punishment. They were not allowed to use their coach during the draft phase of the games and received a 70-second cut on draft time. Apparently, this punishment did not seem to hinder them as they came out storming right from the start of the game.

OG won the laning phase which only kept increasing. In a series of unpredictable events, OG defeated VGJ.Storm with 2-0 to secure spot in the top 6 of The International 8.

On the other hand, Evil Geniuses were on a roll after a fantastic run in the group stages, coming very close to securing the top seed of Group A. Ultimately, it turned out to favor them as they were set to square off against Team Secret, who have not performed like the top 4 team of the DPC rankings as many expected. And like OG, Evil Geniuses defeated Team Secret to secure spot in the top 6 of the International 8.

For remember, we are three days away from the final of DOTA 2 The International 8 (TI8).
