The results of the second day of group stage at World Championship 2019

The second day of Group Stage at League of Legends World Championship 2019 is continued with SK Telecom T1 dominate play.

The first match

SK Telecom T1 locking down their second win of the tournament with a backdoor play against Royal Never Give Up. This Worlds we’ve seen an increasingly more aggressive SKT. Rather than playing a standard, controlled game, SKT have been the ones forcing aggressive fights and plays. Yesterday against Fnatic, SKT secured the win by taking fight after fight and forcing Fnatic to respond. Today’s game against RNG was closer, but SKT kept up the pressure through combative plays and remaining one step ahead of RNG.

The second match

Today fnatic take their first win of the tournament after defeated Clutch Gaming. With this lose CG is moved to the bottom of group C with 2 lose and without any win until now.

The third match

Today we had the 2019 Mid-Season Invitational semifinals rematch between Team Liquid and Invictus Gaming. Liquid were determined to keep their winning record against IG but failed to do so in a crushing defeat. When these two teams met at MSI, Liquid bested IG in a decisive 3-1 victory. Despite this, many League spectators called Liquid’s victory a fluke. Liquid are the four-time LCS champions but have historically struggled internationally, which caused disbelief regarding their win against IG at MSI. And today at every turn, Liquid were forced to respond to IG’s movements. Since IG’s team composition made it hard for Liquid to engage, however, IG could easily re-engage with AOE damage from Fiddlesticks, Orianna, and Vladimir. IG continued forcing Liquid into fights and ended the game after winning Baron Fight.

The forth match

DAMWON Gaming the third seed of LCK defeated the LMS squad ahq Esports Club to send them to the bottom of group D with 2 losses without any win until now.

The fifth match

Today G2 Esports started off their group stage run with a convincing victory over Griffin. G2 came into Worlds as the LEC first seed and reigning Mid-Season Invitational champions. Last year, G2’s Worlds run ended in the semifinals. G2 went on to dominate the 2019 LEC season, coming in first during the spring and Summer Splits. And now, they’re a top contender for this year’s Worlds Championship.

The sixth match

At the final match of the second day of group stage the American squad Cloud9 defeated Hong Kong Attitude to claim their first win in the tournament.
