Ubisoft is rewarding players for hunting bugs in Rainbow Six Siege
If you can make your players do the same thing for free, why would you bother hiring testers? To be frank, we are not even mad. Ubisoft’s new idea seems smart, and the efforts of players will not be in vain while doing so
The Bug Hunter Program is a new system launched on the experimental Technical Test Servers (TTS) , designed to reward players who are able to catch game bugs with virtual rewards if the bug is confirmed and then fixed by the developer team.
Error reporting will go through the same process players have gotten used to through the R6Fix tool, where Bug Hunter will come to complement that tool. After informing the devs of a certain error, Ubisoft will check the bug and try to recreate it according to the instructions of the players. If the bug is found, the player will be notified that he has successfully caught the bug and will be rewarded after three successful reports.
The reward is a direct reference to an old bug in R6 Siege called “Raptor Legs” that gives the characters feet of a dinosaur, a bug fans have always demanded to be transformed into a charm that they can put on weapons and it’s now here to grab for bug hunters.
More prizes will be added in the near future by Ubisoft, meanwhile you can log on to TTS now and look for new bugs to start your hunting journey today.
