Apex Legends might be coming to mobile soon, season 2 details revealed
The new Battle Royale game that was able to stand its own against the giants of this multiplayer genre may be on its way to the most popular platform sooner than we expected, with EA unveiling its new plans for Apex Legends Mobile in the near future
The famous survival game has achieved a number of records including the best launch in history for free to play titles, and now, it seems that it’s about to expand into a new arena of smartphones. According to an investors call yesterday, it was revealed that the phones version of Apex Legends is inevitably on its way, as well as a greater focus on expanding into the Chinese market, which is one of the biggest countries for online video games.
The news do not come as a surprise to fans. We expected a similar announcement with the company’s hints of competition with PUBG Mobile and Fortnite on phones, the two most popular games around the world with millions of players every day thanks to them being free to play and their addictive nature.
EA revealed at the meeting that 30% of Apex Legends players did not play any previous titles from the famous publishing company in the past, which means that it is now one of the company’s top brands. However, the game’s lack of updates required by players has raised questions about its sustainability in an era where we see weekly new content in other famous games, and whether or not can Respawn Entertainment continue to provide enough motivation for players to return to Apex Legends.
Fortunately, we will not have to wait long before we get the new season from Apex Legends, with EA also talking about the second season for investors, saying the official reveal is coming at E3 2019. The words used to describe that season are “Big and robust”, hoping To meet the expectations of fans who were disappointed by the first season with its content and rewards.
We’re still waiting for the promised second character of Apex first season, but the hints from the second season are already making us excited and looking forward to seeing what will happen in the future, especially after talks about possible changes to the Kings Canyon map as Epic does in Fortnite.
We can expect the arrival of the second season before the end of the current financial quarter according to EA, which will end on June 30. EA Play will be held on June 7th as part of E3 2019, so we will definitely see the new content within that time period of next month.
