Ninja leaves Twitch in the biggest surprise of this year

Forget Twitch.tv/Ninja, that link won’t get you to the most popular player in the world of streaming anymore, as the Fortnite celebrity starts a new journey with Twitch’s biggest rival website

Tyler “Ninja” Blevins is one of the biggest names on Twitch, and despite his recent low viewership, he is still the most prolific on this live platform. How he could not when he literally “broke the Internet” when he played Fortnite with the famous singer Drake last year. Now, after a long journey with Twitch, “Ninja” will leave forever.

The announcement came in the form of a video uploaded by the player to his Twitter account, showing him at a faux conference where he made a statement that all of his future streams would be on the Microsoft-owned Mixer platform, which Twitch’s closest competitor.

“It’s still me, just across a different platform.” Ninja speaks in the video that surprised millions of fans around the world. We still do not know the details of this new agreement, but it is definitely the largest in the history of Mixer. With its acquisition of “Ninja”, Microsoft sends a clear message that it has not yet surrendered to its rival, the the world’s most popular live broadcast platform, which attracts tens of millions of users per month.

According to the press release, “Ninja” will also be present in all events with the support of Mixer as a representative of that platform, meaning that he will have a much greater role than just being a content creator to become somewhat the official face of the company.

The first Ninja stream will start on Mixer tomorrow via Lollapalooza, and you can subscribe to his channel for free for a limited time and try out the Microsoft platform to see if it will appeal to you. As for the old link to his channel on Twitch, the verified tag has been removed, which means that his relationship with the site is officially terminated at the moment.

It is noteworthy that Ninja is not the only one to leave Twitch in favor of other services, as was the case with the star of Youtube, the famous Felix “Pewdiepie” Kjelberg who also chose DLive instead of Twitch for his streams.
