Players outrage as PUBG is banned in yet another Arab country

According to local news, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan officially banned the 100-player game through Jordan’s Telecommunications commission, causing the anger of a large number of its players around the Kingdom who woke up to many error messages indicating that the game was unable to contact its official servers.

The reason for the ban, according to official sources, was “a study that proved the harm of the game to people of all ages published by the WHO,” which although classified video game addiction as a new mental illness, has not actually done any study on violence video games, specifically PUBG, Which seems to be suffering from the negative effects of its enormous popularity.

The ban accompany “national interest” and is for the benefit of the young generation, according to the announcement, as if the biggest problem was a video game practiced to entertain from time to time. At a time when eSports are the most important landmarks of developed countries such as South Korea and Germany, it seems that we need more time (and much persuasion) to deliver this culture to our Arab countries, despite the many efforts to change this reality by several Arab organizations such as the Syrian Association for Electronic Sports and other sister countries.

The most disturbing thing about the ban on PUBG is that it will extend to six other multiplayer games, most notably Fortnite and perhaps Apex Legends. Despite seeing a similar ban on PUBG and especially its PUBG Mobile version in countries such as Iraq, Nepal, India and more, the banning of six popular games will be a new record.
