Weapon skins, Chinese region lock and more in PUBG next update
The battlegrounds are about to get more colorful than ever with the introduction of the promised weapon skins system in PUBG’s next update, as announced by Bluehole
Update #8 brings several changes to the game most notably two new weapon crates that have different Skins inside just like how it is in CS: GO and many other games. The two new crates are Triumph – random drop with %20 chance- and Raider, a free crate replacing Fever.
To open Triumph crate you’ll need a new key called Weapon Cosmetic Key sold separately, while Raider is free to open. The skins themselves range in rarity and styles including Rugged, Gold, Trifecta and more. You can view the drop rates below:
The update also comes with something players have requested for a long time, which is a sort of a region lock to hide faraway servers from players across regions. This will, in theory, prevent Chinese and Asian players from joining in EU or NA servers. However, they can still enter those servers if they’re playing with someone who lives in one of these regions.
You can view the full update notes here. It’s now available to download for Test servers where you’ll receive 100,000 BP and 20 keys to try out the new systems, while it’s expected to release in the full version later this week.
