PUBG Mobile leads to a woman requesting divorce from her husband

Bad news about PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, or more commonly known as PUBG, seem to be something of a daily nature. What do we have today? More family problems, but this time, the wife may or may not be the one to blame

A twenty-year-old woman from the Emirate of Ajman applied for a divorce from her husband following a family dispute caused by none other than PUBG Mobile, which the wife used to play continuously until the husband prevented her from doing so, causing a big fight ending with the couple at the police station.

Wafa Khalil al-Hosani, the director of the social center at Ajman Police Station, spoke of the news as one of the strangest cases of married couples, saying that the woman came to the center to seek help after a dispute with her husband about the game.

It is not just about the game of according to the wife, it’s about the husband depriving her of the right to choose the means of entertainment that suits her and bring her comfort and pleasure. Not only that, but the wife insisted that she did not do anything wrong to call the husband’s anger, especially with chat option turned off in the game and playing only with her friends and relatives away from any strangers.

The husband defended his decision to ban the game in his home, saying that it may cause addiction and thus hurt the needs of the family. It is not about restricting freedom as he put it, but rather as a way to keep the fabric of the family cohesive. He did not expect things to reach divorce.

The dispute has been resolved in the social center, but this is not the only family situation of its kind caused by video games. Many parents bring their young children to the center, such as one mother who brought her 13-year-old child, saying she needed help getting him off the game after addiction got him away from his family and made him do worse in his school. When the parents banned the game at home, the kid stopped eating which required hospitalization for treatment.

We all know that video games are a double-edged sword, but the addictive nature of Battle Royale’s titles requires more serious action by Tencent, which has reportedly already begun testing a new feature that limits the daily playing time to force the player To spend time away from the game, after the company received many complaints and with the decision of entire countries to ban the game from its citizens, such as some Arab countries and parts of India.
